Heritage Mural Project

BARAK, Inc. is seeking artists to work with youth to design and create multiple 4'x8' murals that will be located across the community of Harrisburg, PA. These murals will be a part of “Heritage Mural Trail”, a citywide public art project created to celebrate the 150th year of Harrisburg’s charter as a city. The goal of this project is to help enliven and reinforce a sense of culture and history within the city and encourage the youth of the community in positive behavior through the design and creation of these public art pieces. .

Eligibility

This project is open to all practicing, professional artists residing and/or maintaining a business in Central Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, Western PA, and Maryland. We are seeking artists and/ or teams with experience in creating community murals. The selected artists will be responsible for leading teams of Harrisburg youth apprentices. The artist is required to partner with a Harrisburg community or youth organization, selected by BARAK, after the artist selection process, to carry out the project.
